Marie Selwood
I have been working in publishing for more than 20 years both in full-time employment and as a freelance. I trained originally as a magazine sub-editor on weekly and monthly consumer magazines. Later, I moved Into the university sector, working as a research fellow in two London law schools. I went freelance in 1997 and, since then, I have worked in many different fields and media.

- degree in classics (2:1 Soton)
- PCT editing by distance learning (distinction)
- 10 O levels and 3 A levels
- RHS general certificate in horticulture
I am editor of the Socio-Legal Newsletter and the Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) website. I edited the SLSA Research Directory from 2000–2005. I was launch editor of the Legal Empirical Research Support Network and am production editor of the Northern Ireland Legal Quarterly.
I am an experienced academic copy-editor, especially in the fields of law, history, archaeology and horticulture.
As an accredited indexer, I have indexed many books and other publications in diverse subject areas. I indexed the Civil Procedure Rules for two years (2004–2006) and I produce a cumulative index for the Socio-Legal Newsletter. In the past five years I have indexed texts on law, horticulture, archaeology, project management and biography among others.
Since 2005, I have been webeditor of the Socio-Legal Studies Association website. I was also launch editor of the Legal Empirical Research Support Network website.
In addition, I also offer writing, rewriting, proofreading, researching, anglicising non-native English, typesetting and page layout. I am also able to manage your project from start to finish including sourcing other professionals and liaising with printers.
